Sacramento] – The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has launched a new online Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEAD) training for off-sale licensees, managers, and employees to help increase safety in communities throughout California.
The new LEAD Online version of the award-winning LEAD training is now posted. The training is specifically designed for members of the alcoholic beverage industry who work in off-sale locations that sell alcohol to patrons for off-site consumption. The updated training tool was funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).
The LEAD program helps increase safety in communities by providing the alcoholic beverage industry with practical information on selling alcoholic beverages safely, responsibly and legally with an emphasis on preventing sales to minors, sales to obviously intoxicated persons, and disorderly activity at licensed establishments.
For 30 years, ABC has provided this training to the industry free of charge. The new online training tool is an attempt to help licensees and employees by increasing access and making it easier to get training.
